Historic Stone Houses: Driving Tour
This driving tour will take you throughout Bucks County to some of the many historic stone houses that are now private homes. Please be aware that these are private residences and admire from afar. The tour starts in New Hope and ends in Doylestown.
John Chapman House/London Purchase Farm

During the American Revolutionary War, this 1735 house served as a meeting place for Henry Knox and Alexander Hamilton. The land was a part of a grant to William Penn. The farm’s historic significance earned it a spot on the National Register of Historic Places.
Gershom Craft House/Pomona Farm

This home built in 1807 still has 90% original hardware and woodwork, earning it a place on the National Register of Historic Places.

Home of Revolutionary War general John Lacey, this historic home is on the National Register of Historic Places. The oldest section of the home dates to 1755.

This picturesque ferry house on the Delaware River was built in 1730. The home was once a a 4-room guest house and B&B.
Liberty Hall Quakertown

Built in 1772, Liberty Hall was the first permanent residence built in Quakertown. Liberty Hall is on the National Register of Historic Places with good reason. The Liberty Bell was hidden there for a portion of 1777 during the Revolutionary War.
