Depending on your trip destination in Bucks County, there are many access roads to and through the county. Below are general routes from your point of origin. All distances are approximations from your point of origin to Doylestown, the county seat and central point of Bucks County. Distances may vary significantly to other parts of the county.

Upper Bucks:

  • From points South: Route 309 North from Philadelphia first exit is Hilltown. (See also "From points East and West").
  • From points North and New Jersey: Rte 78 to Exit 60 (Quakertown) Route 309 South. From I-80, take I-476 South to Exit 44 (Quakertown).
  • From points East and West: The Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Rte 476) to Exit 44 (Quakertown) to Rte 663 North.


Central Bucks:

  • From points South: I-95 North to Exit 51 (New Hope) enters into Lower Makefield.
  • From points North and New Jersey: Rte 202 South enters just north of New Hope or use I-95 South to Exit 51 (New Hope).
  • From points East and West: The Pennsylvania Turnpike (Rte 276) Exit 343 (Willow Grove) to Rte 611 North into Horsham and on to Doylestown.


Lower Bucks:

  • From points South: I-95 North from Philadelphia enters into Bensalem, Rte 1 North enters into Bensalem and Rte 13 North enters in Bristol.
  • From points North and New Jersey: I-95 South enters just north of Yardley, Rte 1 South enters at Morrisville.
  • From points East and West: The Pennsylvania Turnpike (Rte 276) has two exits Exit 351 (Philadelphia) for Rte. 1 North and Exit 358 (Delaware Valley) for Rte. 13 North.
