Bucks County Covered Bridge Tour Directions

Tour of Bucks County's 12 remaining covered bridges. The Tour is planned so the traveler can start at any one of the bridges.

Cabin Run Covered Bridge

Located on Covered Bridge Road in Plumstead Township, the bridge was built in 1871 and crosses Cabin Run Creek. Height Limit: 11 ft 10 in; Width: 15 ft; Weight Limit: 3 tons; Length: 82 ft.

Erwinna Covered Bridge

The Erwinna Covered Bridge was built in 1832 and crosses the Lodi Creek. The shortest bridge in Bucks is noted for its lattice-type construction.

Frankenfield Covered Bridge

Built in 1872, the bridge crosses Tinicum Creek and is one of the longest covered bridges in the county. Height Limit: 11 ft 3 in. Width Limit: 12 ft. Weight Limit: Check local postings. Length: 130 ft.

Knecht's Covered Bridge

Built in 1873, this bridge is also known as “Slifer’s Bridge.”  Built of Hemlock, it crosses Durham Creek. Height Limit:  11 ft 6 in; Width: 15 ft; Weight Limit:  3 tons; Length: 110 ft.

Loux Covered Bridge

Located on Wismer Road in Plumstead Township the Loux Covered Bridge was constructed of Hemlock in 1874 and crosses Cabin Run Creek. Height Limit: 11 ft; Width: 15 ft; Weight Limit: 15 tons; Length: 60 ft.

Mood's Covered Bridge

The Bridge, crossing the Perkiomen Creek, was built in 1874 and destroyed by fire on June 22, 2004. Rebuilt and reopened to the public in 2007.

Pine Valley Covered Bridge

Built in 1842 of native hemlock and pine, this bridge is also known as "Iron Hill Bridge." It crosses Pine Run Creek. Height Limit: 11 ft 10 in. Width Limit: 15 ft. Weight Limit: Check local postings. Length: 81 ft.

Schofield Ford Covered Bridge

Constructed of hemlock and oak, this town truss bridge was built in 1873 and is the longest in Bucks County. Located in Tyler State Park, visit by foot, bike or horseback. Height: 13 ft; Width: 16ft; Length: 170 ft.

Sheard's Covered Bridge

On Covered Bridge Road between East Rockhill and Haycock Townships. Built in 1873, this bridge spans the Tohickon Creek. Height Limit: 12 ft 1 in; Width: 15 ft; Weight Limit: See local postings; Length: 130 ft.

South Perkasie Covered Bridge

Built in 1832 of pine and oak, this bridge once crossed Pleasant Spring Creek until it became closed to vehicular traffic.

Uhlerstown Covered Bridge

Located on Uhlerstown Road in Tinicum Township and built in 1832. Height Limit: 11 ft 3in; Width: 15 ft; Weight Limit: Check local posting; Length: 101 ft.

Van Sant Covered Bridge

Located on Covered Bridge Road in Solebury Township, the Van Sant Covered Bridge was built in 1870. Height Limit: 12 ft 6 in; Width: 15 ft; Weight Limit: 7 tons; Length: 86 ft.
