![]() WHAT'S NEW IN BUCKS COUNTY?For the Motorcoach IndustryMercer Museum - The museum's plans includes a 13,000 square-foot expansion that will include a new, 3,000-square-foot climate-controlled, state-of-the-art Exhibition Gallery; a new 1,500 square-foot Changing Experiences Gallery to accommodate interactive programs and exhibits, enhanced educational programs, and events; enhanced visitor services and amenities along with improvements to the Museum's central core, including renovated education spaces offering innovative and interactive methods for exploring the Museum's collections; as well as a refurbished and expanded 70-car parking facility. The James A. Michener Art Museum Creative Bucks County - the Bucks County Visitors Center is the new home to this multimedia exhibition that brings to life the work of the many visual artists, authors, playwrights, lyricists and composers who have lived and worked in Bucks County. They include Nobel Prize-winning author and humanitarian Pearl S. Buck; Pennsylvania Impressionist painters Daniel Garber and Edward Redfield; writer and lyricist Oscar Hammerstein II; playwright Moss Hart; American primitive painter Edward Hicks; playwright George S. Kaufman; architect, artist and collector Henry Chapman Mercer; poet, critic and writer Dorothy Parker; humorist S. J. Perelman; Precisionist painter and photographer Charles Sheeler; and writer Jean Toomer, an important author of the Harlem Renaissance. Among its many interactive components, the exhibition allows visitors to peek through Moss Hart’s stage door, listen to the famed tunes of Oscar Hammerstein musicals such as “South Pacific” and “Oklahoma” and pick up Dorothy Parker’s phone to hear recitations of her witticisms and poetry. Bucks County Zoo & Conservancy - This 5,000 square foot facility is an indoor zoological garden housing tropical plants and over 60 animals including giant pythons, alligators, mammals from around the world, amphibians, raptors and much much more! Jungle Joe offers a unique education approach through general admission for tours and private parties as well as bringing the zoo to you! They teach children and adults about wildlife and how to protect and preserve the world’s animals and environment.
